Steinway Lyngdorf opens its first fully-branded Show Suite in the World
KUALA LUMPUR, 18 February 2009 – Steinway Lyngdorf, the designer and manufacturer of the finest high performance music systems in the world, and its Malaysian partner Mystique Universal Sdn Bhd, celebrated the official opening of its first fully branded show suite in the world in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The show suite is located at the Adorn Floor of Starhill Gallery, the prestigious destination mall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre. Featuring Steinway Lyngdorf’s range of extraordinary music and home theater systems within uniquely concepted spaces, the show suite serves to mirror the music and living environments of a music lover’s home.
“Within the first days of our global launch at the end of 2007, some of our first clients of the signature Model D Music System were Malaysians. Steinway Lyngdorf’s unique global distribution strategy, since its commercial launch in late 2007, encompasses show suites as well as demo suites co-located in Steinway Lyngdorf’s offices, within the commercial premises of selected dealers globally. It is part of Steinway Lyngdorf’s plan to continually assess the brand and sales viability of establishing dedicated show suites in the important markets of the world.
The design philosophy of the show suite was inspired by the Danish element of “hygge” which embodies the warmth and cozy feeling in a delightfully appointed home. At the same time, the show suite depicts the inspiring environment of an art gallery – offering aesthetic, aural as well as visual pleasure to the senses, akin to the extraordinary, multi-dimensional experience of the Steinway & Sons series of sound systems.
Commenting on the design concept of the Kuala Lumpur show suite, Suguna Madhavan, President of Steinway Lyngdorf’s Asia Pacific & Middle East operations said: “The show suite houses two distinct spaces – a contemporary living room which features the Model C Music System as well as a home theatre sound system from the architectural Model M Series. The opening event encompassed a by-invitation cocktail gala for Kuala Lumpur’s music connoisseurs, social and business personalities as well as a private performance by Mr Alexey Yemtsov, a Steinway pianist who is a protégé of Maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy, a leading international Russian conductor. The official opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Founder, Peter Lyngdorf, and Guest-of-Honour, Tan Sri Francis Yeoh of YTL Corporation Berhad.
