The Home Of Combat Brings The Top Tournament-style Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Event To Viewers Across Asia
Malaysia (May 22, 2012) – Mixed martial arts (MMA) continues to gain popularity, yet only a handful of fans have seen its tournament-style origins that show the true essence of the combat sport. On May 28 at 10pm, get ready to experience real tournament knock-out style MMA action as KIX HD, the ultimate destination for action entertainment in Asia, brings season 6 of Bellator Fighting Championships (Bellator) first and exclusively across the region.
The largest tournament-style event and the second largest MMA promotion in the world, Bellator is a combat competition where title shots are earned and not given, and every win in any of the tournaments bring fighters one step closer to a title shot against the reigning world champions.
Each single-elimination tournament begins with a quarter final round featuring eight fighters. Winners advance to the semi-finals and then the finals. There is a one-month break between each of the championship stages.
The competition brings out the best MMA fighters in eight weight classes – heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight, lightweight, featherweight, bantamweight and women’s flyweight. These include MMA veterans Eddie Alvarez, Joe Warren, Pat Curran, homegrown champions Ben Askren, Michael Chandler, Cole Konrad and Asian fighters Megumi Fujii and Hiroshi Nakamura.
Be sure to catch the exclusive premiere of Bellator Fighting Championships season 6 only on KIX HD (ASTRO channel 729).
